A Milton Keynes woman racing driver has died after a crash at Goodwood motor racing circuit.

Sandra Harrison-Moore, 37, was driving a Caterham type sports car when she apparently lost control coming out of the last bend during a time trial event and collided with a tyre wall yesterday afternoon.

The driver from Blackthorn Grove, was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital with serious head injuries but died last night.

West Sussex Police were called to the circuit and have been investigating.

Inspector Phil Nicholas said: 'This appears to have been a tragic crash during a regular time trial event and our thoughts go to the victim's family, who were with her when she died.'

An inquest is going to be held.
