Young people encouraged to vote in MK

Milton Keynes Council is encouraging anyone who isn't signed up to vote to put their name on the electoral register.

Local elections are being held on the 6th May, and a general election is expected around the same time.

At the moment there are around 180,000 people signed up to vote in Milton Keynes.

Anyone over the age of 16 can put their name on the electoral register, although you have to be at least 18 to be able to vote.

MK Council is particularly encouraging young people and first time voters to make sure they are on the register, as it says it is this group of people who are less likely to vote.
