Waveney, Suffolk Coastal and Yarmouth Councils are encouraging people to join their scheme to get the lowest tariffs.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council has joined with Waveney District and Suffolk Coastal in an initiative that could save residents money on their energy bills.
The Collective Energy Scheme will allow residents to combine their purchasing power and to bulk buy their energy as a group, enabling those registered to switch to cheaper energy bills.
It will make it easier for people to switch energy provider and it’s expected that savings will be between £60 and £200 a year – but the more people that sign up, the bigger the potential savings.
Registering for the free scheme is easy. All you need to do is visit www.readytoswitch.co.uk and provide your contact details, the name of your supplier and details of your current energy usage and tariff.
For those that don’t have access to the internet there are several other ways to sign up, you’ll still just need a recent energy bill:
• Call Great Yarmouth (01493) 856100
• Visit the Town Hall or Greyfriars House
• Or get a friend or family member to register you online at (you can register up to 5 separate address with the same email address)
