A47: Appeal After Fatal Crash

A woman was killed when her car crashed at a roundabout on the A47 at Blofield.

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal road traffic collision in the county on Friday 30 December 2011.

The incident took place at around 1pm at the Blofield roundabout on the A47 close to Norwich.

A silver Toyota Corolla left the highway and ended up upside down on the centre of the roundabout.

Sadly the female driver, believed to be in her 80s, died as a result.

The road remains closed to allow emergency services to attend the scene.

Enquires are ongoing but officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have spotted the Toyota prior to the incident.

No further information relating to the deceased will be released until next of kin have been informed and formal identification has taken place.

Witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) at Norfolk Constabulary on 101.
