The Roads Minister Stephen Hammond's been driver along the length of the A47 to see where the problem areas are.
He's promised a feasibility study to look at duelling more of the route between Great Yarmouth and Peterborough.
But he admitted no more money will be available until after the next general election 2015. All of the MPs representing areas along the A47 met with Mr Hammond to explain why investment was needed.
They were keen to highlight the economic benefits of opening up the road to Great Yarmouth's port and from the Research Park in Norwich to the Midlands.
