UPDATE: Police have a found a missing man at Bawsey Pits near King's Lynn, 3 hours after the search for him began.
The man in his 20s has been checked over by the ambulance service as a precaution and officers have thanked the volunteers from Lowland Rescue who helped in the search.
The search was sparked at around 3pm when police got a call by someone worried about the man's welfare.
Norfolk Fire Service, the police helicopter and the East of England Ambulance Service have all helped to find and care for the man.
The quarry is a particular concern because last July two people drowned at Bawsey Pits as they swam to cool off in the hot weather.
41-year-old Ryan Pettengell from King's Lynn and Umar Balogun, 16, from London, died in separate incidents on the same day.
