Brandon: Search Continues For Missing Man

Searches of the Little Ouse River in Brandon will be resuming this morning as efforts to trace missing man Robert Arnold continue.

The 65-year-old from Beechfields in Brandon was reported missing to police on Thursday afternoon, 24th May but he has not been seen since 8pm on Monday 21st May.

Mr Arnold's car has since been found in the Aldi car park at Brandon, which is near to the Little Ouse River.

Due to concerns for Mr Arnold's welfare and the discovery of his car, police, the Fire Service and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue searched the Little Ouse River yesterday, Friday 25 May using officers, helicopter, boats and dogs, but Mr Arnold was not located.

This morning Fire and Rescue divers will be attending the river to assist police with the search.

Mr Arnold is described as white, 5"6' tall of medium build with short wavy fair hair, he has a beard, wears two hearing aids and it is thought that when he went missing he was wearing jeans and a quilted anorak.

Anyone who has seen Mr Arnold or knows of his whereabouts should contact the Duty Sergeant at Mildenhall Police Station on 101.
