A soldier from Bury St Edmunds, who was arrested after five kilos of cocaine were seized at Heathrow airport, is due in court today.
26 year old Daryl Archer, who is formerly from Bury St Edmunds but now lives at Merville Barracks in Colchester, was arrested at the airport two weeks ago (8th January 2014) after arriving in from Sao Paulo in Brazil.
He's charged with attempting to import a Class A drug.
He's due to appear at Isleworth Crown Court today.
A Home Office spokesperson said:
"In making this seizure Border Force officers have prevented a substantial amount of class A drugs reaching the streets of the UK."
