Controlled Explosion On Norfolk Coast

Bomb disposal experts have carried out a controlled explosion in West Runton on the Norfolk Coast, after what's believed to be an unexploded mortar was found.
Officers were contacted at around 12 noon yesterday (1st June) after the item was unearthed by a dog in an area of a campsite on Holgate Lane.
Personnel from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team attended, assessed the item and controlled detonation took place around 5.25pm.
The cordon has now been lifted from the area.
