Cromer: Police Call For Information On Husband And Wife Shooting

Police in Cromer in North Norfolk are asking for information from friends and neighbours after a husband and wife were found dead at their home.

Officers believe 58-year-old Keith Johnson shot 44-year-old Andrea Johnson and then turned the gun on himself at their home in Compit Hills.

Now questions are being asked about what made a popular and active member of the community kill his wife.  Mr Johnson was Leader of North Norfolk District Council.

Police were called to the home on Sunday afternoon after a neighbour heard a bang and saw Mrs Johnson injured in the front garden.  Paramedics and the air ambulance tried to treat her but she died at the scene.  Mr Johnson's body was found later in the back garden of their home.

A post mortem has confirmed the couple both died from gunshot wounds.
