Dangerous Driver Sentenced
A man who drove towards oncoming traffic on the A47 in Norfolk to try to get away from police has been jailed for 16 months.
31-year-old Jack Johnson Lee, from Parkers Close in Easton, tried to escape from police officers in the Dereham Road area of Norwich, weaving in and out of traffic for several miles before crashing into a ditch.
After driving along part of the A47 on the wrong side of the road, Lee eventually lost control of the Transit van he was driving on the icy roads and slid into a ditch. Despite escaping on foot, he was later arrested at his home address.
He was given a 16 month jail sentence at Norwich Crown Court, after pleading guilty to dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and failing to stop for police on December 23rd 2010.
