A 33-year-old man from Dereham in Norfolk has been charged with a series of offences in connection with making and possessing indecent images of children.

It follows a National Crime Agency operation run in October last year which resulted in warrants being carried out across the Eastern region including in Norfolk and Suffolk, with a number of people arrested on suspicion of being involved in the distribution of indecent images of children.

Paul Baxter, of Chestnut Close, is accused of 16 counts of making an indecent image of a child and one count of possessing of an indecent image of a child.

The charges relate to incidents in Dereham between July and October last year (2013).

Baxter has been released on bail with conditions to appear at King’s Lynn Magistrates Court on Wednesday 21 May.
