Great Yarmouth: Armed Robbery Arrests

Two men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at the Market Gates shopping centre in Great Yarmouth.

Following a joint operation between Norfolk Constabulary and Essex Police a 38-year-old man was arrested last night (Friday 14 December 2012) at an address in Essex on suspicion of committing the armed robbery at the Cash Inn on Thursday 13 December 2012.

In addition a second man, also aged 38, was arrested over night at an address in Great Yarmouth on suspicion of assisting an offender. He was taken to Yarmouth PIC where he is awaiting questioning by officers.

The man in Essex is being brought back to Norfolk for questioning.

The 64-year-old man who was injured during the incident has subsequently been released from the James Paget Hospital where he was treated for a head injury.
