Great Yarmouth: Man Assaulted

Detectives are currently investigating a serious assault which took place in Great Yarmouth on Nelson Road Central in the early hours of this morning.

Police officers were called at 1.55am to a report of a disturbance outside the Bricklayers Arms pub and a man who had been assaulted.

On arrival a 40-year-old male was found outside the pub with serious injuries. An ambulance was called and the victim who is local was taken to the James Paget hospital for treatment. At this stage his condition is being described as critical.

Three men, a 43-year-old, a 23-year-old, and a 29-year-old all from the Yarmouth area, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and have been taken to Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre where they will be questioned by officers.

Scenes of crime officers are at the scene, a seal is in place and enquiries are continuing.
