Halesworth: Police Name Man Killed In Crash

Police have named a man who died after crashing into the side of a building in Halesworth.
Officers were called at around 3.10pm on Thursday (20th February) with a report that a blue Volvo had collided with a property in Bridge Street (near to The Thoroughfare) in Halesworth.
The Fire and the Ambulance service were also called to help deal with it but 88 year old John Veitch from Southwold, who was the only person in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A structural engineer also attended to make sure the building was made safe.
No one else was injured.
Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicle which came from the direction of Quay Street and New Cut in Halesworth to call them.
