Ipswich: Man Arrested After Woman Reports Rape

A 21-year-old man has been arrested after a woman reported being raped in the Cromer Road area of Ipswich on Monday evening.
The 27-year-old woman contacted police around 10.40pm on Monday night (3rd March) reporting that she had been grabbed by a man and raped earlier in the evening.
She told officers she had been walking along Cromer Road towards Bramford Lane around 8.30pm when she was approached by a man who initially asked her the time but then took hold of her, pulled her into an area where bins are stored and raped her.
This afternoon police have arrested a 21-year-old man from Ipswich on suspicion of rape in connection with the attack. He has been taken into custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where he will be interviewed by detectives.

A man has been charged with rape following the rape of a 27 year old woman in Cromer Road, Ipswich at around 8.30pm on Monday 3 March.
Mohammed Al Jaf Sarteb Sabir, aged 21 years from Cromer Road, Ipswich has been charged with rape and will appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates court tomorrow morning (8th March).
