Leiston: Arrests After £10k Cannabis Found

Two men have been arrested after police found cannabis worth £10,000 was found in Leiston, Suffolk.

An 18-year-old and a 23-year-old have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production and supply of cannabis, possession of a class A drug and burglary after officers executed a warrant at a home at Station Road in Leiston yesterday morning, Thursday 28 February.

 

Officers from the Lowestoft-based Territorial Support Team, accompanied by a dog unit, carried out the warrant and discovered three growing tents in a bedroom at the property. Twenty cannabis plants, with an estimated street value of around £10,000 were seized, along with five bags containing white powder, thought to be cocaine.

 

Items of property that may have been stolen were also recovered.

 

The two, both from Leiston, were taken into custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where they were interviewed by officers before being bailed to return to police on Monday 15 April, pending further enquiries.
