Lowestoft Town FC supporters will have the opportunity to cheer their heroes when the team takes part in a celebration parade through the town on Sunday June 15.
Following the Trawlerboys’ play-off victory against Hornchurch, which sees the promoted to the Conference level, Waveney District Council have been in discussions with the club to arrange an event and a date has now been set.
An open top bus, will leave the club’s stadium at 11am and head to the Marina Theatre for a celebration reception. The players and coaching team will step out on to the balcony above the theatre’s box office and café and say a few words to supporters to thank them for their fantastic support during the memorable season.
Cllr Colin Law, Leader of Waveney District Council said: “This is a fitting way to recognise the club’s achievements and to show them how much it means to the supporters and people of Lowestoft. Their success has created a real pride in the town and we are looking forward to a real fun occasion.
“Ultimately, it was up to the club themselves to choose a date which allowed as many of the team and staff as possible to attend. They have chosen Sunday June 15 and we are more than happy to accommodate them.”
Exact details of the route, any road closures and other activities in the town that day will be confirmed nearer the date.
