Suffolk: Man Charged After Pursuit Around The County

A man arrested following a pursuit in the county on Thursday (20th February) has been charged.

At around 9:50pm on Thursday a vehicle failed to stop for officers in Ipswich and a pursuit began, which included the police helicopter.

Offices followed the car all the way to Whatfield where the vehicle drove into a field, stopped and the driver fled. Officers including a dog unit pursued him on foot and he was arrested nearby.

John Cook, aged 25 and of no fixed address, has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, driving whilst disqualified and possession of cannabis.

He's been detained in police custody to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning (22nd February).
