Man Threatened During Home Burglary

A 52-year-old man has been taken to the James Paget Hospital with a possible fractured jaw and cuts and bruises to his face after an aggravated burglary at a home in Aldwyck Way around 1.55am this morning, Wednesday 20 July.

The man was at home with his teenage son and some of his friends when a security light went on at the back of their home, the 52-year-old went to investigate and he saw a male in his back garden who left when he was spoken to.

Moments later two men barged into the property. The occupants were threatened with weapons, believed to include a knife, and told to hand over cash. Several of those inside the property were assaulted during the incident before the offenders left.

One is described as around 5ft 10ins – 5ft 11ins tall, in his late teens to 20s, of medium build, wearing dark jogging bottoms, a dark jacket and balaclava-style face mask, while the other was slightly older, slightly taller at around 6ft, and of skinny build, wearing dark grey jogging bottoms and a dark top.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the area around this time or anyone with information about the offenders.
