Norwich: Man Bailed After Sudden Death

The 22-year-old Norwich man arrested in connection with the death of William Phillips has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Thirty-four year old Mr Phillips died after he was involved in an altercation on Wednesday 18 July with a male cyclist near to the doctor's surgery on Oak Street in Norwich.

Mr Phillips received initial treatment at the surgery, and was subsequently taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital.

He was found dead at his home address around 5pm on Friday 20 July by his mother. A forensic post mortem has been carried out but further tests will be carried out before the cause of death is fully established.

Police say they have released the man on bail while they continue their investigations.
