A man has been charged following a knifepoint robbery at a Norwich building society.
42-year-old Michael Toomey, of no fixed abode, is accused of robbing the Norwich and Peterborough Building Society in Plumstead Road of £6,531 cash, 38 blank banking cheques and eight customer cheques on Monday 16 September.
Toomey has been remanded in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre to appear before Norwich Magistrates Court tomorrow morning (Thursday 19 September).
Detective Sergeant Tom Smith, from Norwich CID, said despite searches the knife had not been found.
He said: "We would still ask residents in the Borrowdale Drive and Steepgreen Close areas to be aware that we are still looking for a knife and items of clothing which we believe were discarded following the incident."
Anyone who finds a knife or items of clothing is asked not to touch them and to call Norwich CID immediately on 101.
