Norwich: Man Charged Over Job Centre Crash

A man has been charged after a driver smashed a car through the front doors of the Norwich Job Centre Office.

The 35-year-old man will appear in court this morning charged in relation to a collision.

Officers were called to Kiln House in Pottergate following reports a car had collided with the front door of the Jobcentre.

The gold Rover 75 crashed into the glass doors at approximately 9.40am and a man was arrested at the scene.

The building was evacuated as a precaution and the road was closed until 1.30pm. No one was injured.

Christopher Leeds, of Fitzgerald Road, Norwich, has been charged with dangerous driving and criminal damage – recklessly endangering life.

He was remanded in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre to appear before Norwich Magistrates Court this morning.
