Norwich: Man Charged Over Police Assault

A 23 year old man has been charged in connection with an assault on a policeman in Norwich, that left the officer needing hospital treatment.

Lance Beane of Primrose Crescent  was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident in Thomas Wyatt Close early on Friday morning.  He appeared before Norwich Magistrates court Saturday morning and has been remanded in custody.

The officer was released from hospital on Friday after getting treated for a hand injury.

Police are still appealing for witnesses and are keen to speak to anyone who saw a bronze coloured Ford Fiesta being driven in the Coleman Road, Trinity Street, Unthank Road area of Norwich at about  4.45am on 17 February.
