A man found murdered over the weekend has been named by police.

Emergency services were called to 21 Euston Road on Sunday, January 2, at about 7am where the body of a man was discovered.

The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Vladimir Adamavics from Latvia and from 21 Euston Road in Yarmouth. His next of kin have been informed.

Another man, also in his 20s, was arrested a short while later close to the scene of the incident on suspicion of murder. Magistrates yesterday granted an application for extended detention allowing officers more time to question the suspect.

Detectives investigating the man's death are now appealing for help from members of the public in tracing a weapon. Officers are keen to hear from anyone who used the section of beach in Yarmouth between the Britannia Pier and Jetty yesterday from about 10am to 1pm and may have seen or recovered a knife.

Anyone with information should contact the MIT or Yarmouth CID on 0845 456 4567 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
