Police are appealing for information after a female pedestrian was hit by a lorry in Sheringham last night (10th January) and died at the scene.
It happened at around 5pm on the A148 Sheringham Road close to the junction with Lodge Hill.
A lorry was travelling towards Cromer when it was involved in a collision with a female pedestrian. The pedestrian died at the scene.
The road was closed to allow emergency services including police, fire and ambulance to attend the scene.
The male driver of the lorry was uninjured and has been assisting police with their enquiries.
It took place close to Sheringham Park and officers would like to speak to anyone who believes they may have seen a female pedestrian in the area shortly before 5pm. They are also keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the white lorry, which had been carrying plant machinery, prior to the collision.
No further information relating to the female will be released at this stage.
Witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) at Norfolk Constabulary on 101.
