Suffolk & Norfolk Paralympians

Many of our athletes from Suffolk and Norfolk will be in action at today's Paralympic Games.

In the archery at 10am, Mel Clarke from Taverham in Norfolk will be taking part in the ranking round for the Women's Individual Compound and Kenny Allen from Wymondham will be in the ranking round for the Men's Individual Recurve - Standing. 

Amy Ottaway from Norwich will be playing for Team GB in the goalball as they take on Lithuania at 9am and later at 6pm, Suffolk's Zoe Newson will be in the Women's 40kg powerlifting which is a medal event. 

Two women's wheelchair basketball players from our region, Amy Conroy from Norwich and Caroline Maclean from Haverhill in Suffolk will be taking on the Netherlands for Team GB at 1pm in the preliminary rounds. 

Other athletes from the region taking part over the course of the games include Jody Cundy from Walpole St Andrew in Norfolk who will be in the Track Cylcing, Jessica-Jane Applegate from Great Yarmouth will be in swimming, Jonathan Adams, from Great Cornard in Suffolk will be in the shotputt, Matthew Ellis, from Bury St Edmunds who will be playing in the 7 a side football 7-a-side and Scott Moorhouse, from Ipswich will be in the javelin event.
