Finishing touches are being made to plans for two major cycle races in Ipswich and Aylsham in June.
On Thursday 13th June Aylsham will play host to the Pearl Izumi sponsored ‘Tour Series’ (male riders, at 7.30pm) and the Johnson Health Tech Grand Prix Series (female riders, at 5.30pm).
The race will then move on to a climax in Ipswich the following evening on Friday June 14th.
The UK's leading cyclists will battle it out around a circuit in both towns meaning spectators will be able to see plenty of the action.
Kirstin Hughes, Economic Development Manager at Broadland District Council, said:
“We are hugely honoured to be welcoming these two fantastic races to Aylsham.
Local businesses and residents are extremely excited and in addition to the two evening races we will see teams of residents of all ages taking to their bikes during the afternoon."
Fiona Roberts, Event Manager at Norfolk County Council, said:
"The Tour of Britain has been hugely popular in Norfolk over the last three years and I have no doubt that we will see large crowds heading to Aylsham to watch another leading British cycle race – the Tour Series.
“Top level competitors and teams will be racing around a short circuit of the town, and with a host of activities on offer throughout the day there will be loads to see and enjoy.”
