Detectives investigating the discovery of a woman's body at a lake in Norwich can confirm the woman has been identified.

Relatives attended Bethel Street Police Station earlier this afternoon, Friday 9 August, after being alerted to reports of the case in the media.

The woman, a 43-year-old Lithuanian national living in the Norwich area, was formally identified by family members earlier this evening.

Detectives Inspector Richard Graveling said the death continued to be treated as unexplained and thanked the media for their assistance in the case.

He said: "This is a very tragic set of circumstances and a very upsetting time for the family who now need to come to terms with the loss of their loved one.

"I would like to offer my thanks to the media in keeping this case in the public eye which has undoubtedly helped to solve this mystery."

Extended family members are still to be informed and no further information concerning the woman's identity will be released at this stage.
