A 42-year-old woman has been assaulted by a boy she found in her home in Lowestoft.

It happened yesterday afternoon when she went into her house on Lorne Road with her teenage son slightly ahead, when he saw someone inside and tried to stop him.

The boy ran out of the house past the 42-year-old woman who made a grab for him but he assaulted her before running off towards Beaconsfield Road. A second male was also seen leaving the property and a 37-inch TV had been stolen from the house.

Straight away police came and began making inquiries. They spoke to a man who had been walking his dog and saw a white boy said to be carrying a TV on his shoulders. The dog walker described him to be 12 - 14-years-old with short brown hair, wearing a grey hooded top with darker bottoms.

This boy then met with two others, one described to be 5 foot 4 and around 14-years-old. He was said to have short dark hair and wearing a dark jumper and tracksuit bottoms. The other boy was described as younger, under 5 foot and wearing a red top under a black jumper with black trousers.

The police need to trace the three males and are asking for information. Calls in relation to this incident should be made to DC 1087 Pybus at Lowestoft CID on 01986 835300. Police are also urging anyone who notices any suspicious behaviour to call 999 immediately.
