Child Injured in Car Theft

A three-year-old girl was injured when the family's car was stolen in Northamptonshire over the weekend.

The incident took place on the A509 at Little Irchester on Saturday when the family's Land Rover Discovery was taken.

The family was enjoying a roadside picnic, next to the Freedan premises around 2pm, when a man jumped into the Land Rover and drove away.

The child, who was sitting on the tailgate of the vehicle, fell onto the road as the man drove away at speed.

Police are appealing for information about the man following the incident.

The man is described as white, aged in his late teens to early twenties, 6ft tall and of medium build with short dark spiky hair. He was wearing blue jeans, white t-shirt and white trainers.

The index of the vehicle, which has not yet been found, is 66 KAX.
