Elderly Man Robbed In His Own Home

Victim dragged across his lounge by two robbers.
It happened early Tuesday morning, between 7.40am and 7.50am, when the 81-year-old man opened his door in Fort Place to two men who forced their way in, pushing him to the floor and dragging him into his lounge.
The robbers searched the lounge, taking the elderly man's wallet from his trousers. He suffered bruises to his wrists and arms.
The men also made off with tobacco and a sovereign ring.
They both wore dark scarves covering their faces.
A police spokesman said: "This was a nasty and cowardly attack on an 81-year-old man and the men responsible for this attack need to be traced as quickly as possible.
"If you noticed anyone acting suspiciously or any suspicious vehicles in or around the Scarletwell Street area of Northampton during the early hours of today, please contact us as a matter of urgency.
"We do not have a detailed description of the offenders and we need the help from the wider public."
