Officers are urging motorists to drive safely, avoid rubber-necking and leave plenty of time, following four collisions on the M1 this morning.
At 6.30am this morning a lorry overturned between Junction 15a and Junction 16 northbound. There were no serious injuries.
At 7.20am there was a two vehicle collision involving a car and a lorry, at the same location but again, there were no serious injuries.
At 8.30am a further six vehicle collision happened, again at the same location but nobody was seriously injured.
A further collision happened at 10.00am at Junction 19 southbound, involving three vehicles. Two people suffered injuries.
Motorists are being advised to drive safely, give themselves extra time and avoid slowing down to observe the scene of the collision.
