Lorry Driver Killed

A lorry driver's been killed in a four-vehicle crash on the A14 in Northamptonshire.

The 51-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, at 4.55pm on Thursday 26 July 2012, which involved another lorry and two cars.

The crash happened on the westbound carriageway, about a mile before the Catthorpe Interchange with the M1.

Tailbacks of about four miles were caused to westbound traffic.  With temperatures in the high 20s celsius on the afternoon of the crash, the Highways Agency assisted Northamptonshire Police with distributing water and checking on the welfare of people in the queue of traffic.
