Man suffers head injury after attack

Police are appealing for information about an assault on a 30-year-old man which took place in Northampton during the early hours of Thursday morning (13 January).

The man had been at NBs night club in Bridge Street and left the premises at around 1.30am.
 
He began walking towards his home address, intending to walk via Angel Street, Guildhall Road, St Giles Street, through the churchyard into York Road then onto Abington Square, Kettering Road and home.
 
The victim remembers walking along Angel Street but nothing thereafter. He was picked up at the junction of Kettering Road and Raeburn Road by ambulance and taken to Northampton General Hospital where he woke up.
 
As well have suffering an injury to the back of his head, he was also left with a black eye, damage to his teeth and facial swelling.
 
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen this man along this route during the early hours of the morning.
