Police have charged a man with murder after a 72 year old man was found dead in Northampton.
Guiseppe Miceli, a coin and metal trader, was found dead at his home in Bants Lane, Duston at 1.45pm on Saturday 13 July. A post mortem examination has found he died as a result of head injuries.
Mark Ellson, 40, from Wellingborough was due to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Friday 19 July charged with murder.
Police spent Friday 19 July in the Bants Lane area trying to find people with information about what happened.
Detective Superintendent Kate Meynell, who is leading the investigation, said: “Bants Lane is a busy residential road and through route, and a lot of people will have driven or walked through this area in the 48 hours leading up to the discovery of Mr Miceli’s body.
“We are really keen to speak to people who were in the area this time last week. They may not think they saw anything suspicious but every bit of information is important and may help us build a full picture of the circumstances surrounding Mr Miceli’s death.”
