POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery that happened on Thursday (Feb 21st) around 8am, outside the Riverside McDonald's, Northampton.
A Loomis security transit driver was approached by a man outside McDonald's.
The man threatened the driver with an axe and stole a cash box from him.
The offender then got onto a scrambler bike, which was being driven by another man, and drove off.
The bike is believed to have been red in colour.
The main offender is described as white, in his 30s, of medium to average build, 5ft 10ins tall, and wearing a black woolly hat and blue hooded top.
Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101 - alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
