Pensioner Killed Crossing Road

A 78 year old man's died after being hit by a car while crossing a road in Northampton carrying shopping bags.

He was struck by a black Citroen C2 VTR on St Leonard's Road, near Cotton End, at 6.45pm on Thursday 30 January 2014.

Police say the man was from Northampton and died of his injuries at the scene.

Northamptonshire Police are asking people who saw the crash, or anyone with information, to call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615 or the non-emergency number 101.
