Police Hunt Citroen Driver After Brackmills Road Rage Attack

22 January 2014, 06:00

Police are hunting for the driver responsible for a road-rage attack in Northampton.

The victim was driving a red Peugeot 306 from the A605 near Peterborough towards Northampton on the A45, when he was cut up by a dark blue or black Citroen C2 or C3 - some time between 6.40am and 7am last Wednesday morning (January 15th).

The victim flashed his lights and beeped his horn at the Citroen.

This provoked the Citroen driver who manouvered his car so he was following the victim and then flashed his lights at him. He continued to follow the car as they travelled towards Northampton, pulling up alongside the victim when the traffic slowed, throwing items at the victim's car.

The offender then followed the victim to his place of work in Brackmills, Northampton, where the offender got out of his car and punched him in the face.

The offender was a white man, in his 30s, of medium to heavy build, 5ft 6in, with short, cropped balding hair. He had a local accent and was wearing dark blue cargo trousers, a dark-coloured jacket and work boots.

Officers investigating the incident are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed any part of this incident, including the two cars travelling near one another from the direction of the A605 near Peterborough.

Witnesses or anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
