Police are appealing for witnesses following two linked robberies that happened in bookmakers in Northampton on Saturday 16th February.
The first robbery took place in Betfred on Kettering Road, at around 6.30pm.
A man entered the premises, threw a bag at the cashier and demanded money. He indicated that he had a weapon.
The cashier replied that she didn’t have any money and immediately went to the cubicle door to ensure it was locked. At this point the offender left the shop.
The offender is described as black, 5ft 9ins tall, and wearing a black facial covering, dark coloured jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms.
The second offence took place in Ladbrokes on Fish Street, at around 7.00pm.
A man entered the premises, threatened staff with what appeared to be a gun and demanded money. The staff handed over a small quantity of cash, and the offender left the shop.
The offender is described as black, 5ft 9ins tall, and wearing a black facial covering, dark coloured jacket and grey tracksuit bottoms.
