Man Seriously Hurt in Liverpool Shooting

A man's in a serious condition in hospital after being shot in Wavertree. He was leaving his house in Maberley View with his partner and 18 month old child.
The 30-year-old was approached by a man thought to be armed with a shot gun who chased him before shooting him just after 8pm on Tuesday 21 October. The victim was taken to hospital where he's said to be in a serious condition.
Superintendent Mark Wiggins, said, "At this time we believe this incident was a targeted attack. I would appeal for anyone with any information regarding who was responsible, or why this took place, to contact us and help us with our enquiries.
"Merseyside Police deals robustly with any incidents of gun crime and we will relentlessly pursue those who use guns on our streets. If you have any information which could help us to identify who carried out this attack, please call us so we can put them before the courts and bring them to justice.”
The scene's been cordoned off while a forensic examination's carried out. House-to-house inquiries are also taking place and underway and high visibility patrols have been stepped up in the area to reassure the local community.
