Margaret's nomination story:

"Margaret has been working tirelessly for over 30 years in the service of others. She has raised over £30,000 for worthy causes. These include raising funds to buy Oxygen Monitors, Treadmill, Blood Pressure Monitors for local hospital and Defibrillators for ambulance service. £1.000 for nursing home residents. Margaret also helps friends/collegues/neighbours who are experiencing financial or personal problems. She looks out for her elderly neighbours, cooking meals, shopping and makes sure they are okay. In 2007 her grandson Pte Luke Simpson was killed in Iraq. Since then Margaret has been raising funds for the injured soldiers at Selly Oak Hospital,Birmingham. She has raised over £8,000. She also sends parcels to our soldiers in Afghanistan. She has sent over 1,000. Margaret makes marathon efforts for those in need. Her example inspires others and we all respect and love her."
