Detectives investigating a stabbing which might have been a gay hate crime have made an arrest.
A 35-year-old local man remains in hospital with chest injuries after he was attacked as he walked along Chester's City Walls on Monday night.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after officers attended an address in Station Road, Ellesmere Port, in the early hours of today, said Cheshire Police.
Police said yesterday they were considering the possibility it could be a hate crime as the victim was attacked in a place the gay community visit.
