A European arrest warrant has been issued for a man police want to speak to over the murder of Neil Doyle.
The 36 year old died after allegedly being attacked in Liverpool City Centre, along with two other officers, when they were on a Christmas night out.
Police now want to speak to Timmy Donovan, 30, who is also known as Timmy O’Sullivan and originally from the Huyton area.
It's thought he left the country at about 8.30pm on Friday, 19 December, through the Eurotunnel in a five door grey Mercedes A180 registration YE62 NWG with officers now believing he could be in Spain.
Donovan is described as 5ft 8in tall, broad build, with dark brown hair and blue eyes and has a Liverpool accent.
Officers are appealing to Timmy Donovan, or anyone who knows of his whereabouts, to contact the Matrix Serious Organised Crime Major Crime Unit on 0800 230 0600, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
Pc Doyle had been on a night out with two other off-duty officers when they were attacked at around 3.15am. His colleagues were treated in hospital for facial injuries.
Christopher Spendlove, 30, of Brandearth Hey, Stockbridge Village, and Andrew Taylor, 28, of Cherry Tree Road, Huyton, have already appeared in court accused of his murder and will go on trial at Liverpool Crown Court on June 22.
Both defendants also face charges that they caused grievous bodily harm with intent to those two officers.
