Late night alcohol delivery concerns

Alcohol campaigners are worried about plans to set up a late-night booze delivery service in Oxford.

More than three thousand people have joined a Facebook group supporting the idea.  It's been set up by people who said they would start up the service in March 2010, if three thousand people joined the group.

Similar services already operate in other areas of the country.  Dusk Till Dawn Drinks in Ipswich deliver alcohol to your door between 10pm and 5am at weekends, and close at 4am on other days of the week.

Alcohol Concern say they're worried it'll lead to more drink problems in society.  Carys Davies from the organisation has been telling Heart: "This is another way of increasing the availability of alcohol, and availability along with affordability and advertising are some of the reasons why we do have such a high drinking culture in this country."
