New station plans on show

People in Kidlington have had a chance to ask questions about plans to build a new railway station near the village Sainsbury's.

Chiltern Railways' proposals to start services between Oxford and London Marylebone - which would include the construction of a new station at the Water Eaton Park and Ride - went on display at an exhibition in Kidlington on Saturday 19 June 2010.

Allan Dare, Chiltern Railways' Strategic Development Manager, said: "We're looking forward to meeting people at this event and talking more to people about our exciting proposals, including a new station for Kidlington at Water Eaton Parkway.

"Sustainable public transport is a key tool in the fight against climate change, and at Chiltern Railways we're pleased to be playing our part."

Chiltern Railways hope to start running trains between Oxford and Marylebone via Bicester by 2013, and have the new station at Kidlington open by then too.
