Police are trying to work out who painted a statue outside a Thames Valley football club pink over the weekend.
Fans woke up to find the bronze Ox covered in pink paint outside the Kassam Stadium in Oxford with the unwelcome make-over on Sunday morning.
A club spokesman said:
"Police are currently investigating the incident and have been at the club this morning. We are working closely with them and will be giving them any help we can in identifying the person or people responsible."
Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas told Heart:
"It's disappointing that someone feels the need to express themselves in this way. The positive is that it seems like it is not a statement against the football club, but rather about something else. However, it is covered now and we will be looking into the cleaning up process this week. With so many good things going on at the club at the moment we are not going to get to carried away with something like this."
