Dunmore Pre-School has been told it can reopen after Ofsted closed it because a committee member had been charged with sexual offences against girls.
28 year old Paul Townsend from Hadland Road in Abingdon is charged with 16 counts of sexual offences against four girls between 2010 and 2012. He's due before Oxford Magistrates on 10th April.
Ofsted chose to close the school while investigations took place to see if any children at the school had been put at risk. The school's suspension has now been lifted as Ofsted says it is happy that Townsend had no contact with children at the school.
“Ofsted placed a suspension on the registration of Dunmore Pre School on 27 March 2013 while enquires were made about the safeguarding arrangements for its children. We have been satisfied that the appropriate arrangements are in place at Dunmore Pre School and that is why we lifted the suspension on Wednesday 3 April 2013.”
The school is expected to reopen after the Easter Holidays.
