Detectives investigating an armed robbery in Peterborough have released CCTV images of two men they want to speak to.

Detective Sergeant Andy Tolley, investigating, said: "Investigations are progressing and we are continuing our attempts to trace the men responsible.

"I would ask anyone who recognises the men in the CCTV images to contact police."

It happened at the Harvey Daly jewellers in Long Causeway on Friday morning.

Two robbers went into the shop, threatened a member of staff then ran off after being challenged, however it's thought one of the men grabbed a handful of gold necklaces.

As the men left the store, a member of the public tried to stop one of them and had a gun pointed at him.

Detectives believe they have identified one of the robbers "and are working hard to trace him".

They have also identified the man who tried to stop one of the robbers, and are due to speak to him about the incident soon.
