Boy Hit By Police Bike In Peterborough

A young boy is seriously hurt after being hit by a Lincolnshire Police motorbike in the centre of Peterborough.

It happened on Bridge Street just after 1pm.

The boy has been taken to Peterborough City Hospital, however Cambridgeshire Police say his injuries aren't believed to be life-threatening.

A Linconshire police spokesperson said: "An investigation has been launched by Cambridgeshire Police after a Lincolnshire Police motorbike was in collision with a young boy on Bridge Street in the centre of Peterborough.

The extent of the boys injuries are thought to be serious.

He has been taken by ambulance to Peterborough City Hospital.

The incident was called into Cambridgeshire Police at 1.04pm today.

Any witnesses to the incident should call Cambridgeshire Police on 0345 456 456 4 with the incident reference number 288 of today’s date."

It's not thought the police officer riding the motorcycle was hurt.

The A15 Bourges Boulevard in Peterborough is closed and there are long delays in the city centre as a result of the collision and investigation.
